We’ll be having our last show of 2009 this coming Wednesday, December 9th, at 10:30PM at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC! I’m not sure if you know about Rockwood, but it has a killer sound system and a small capacity, which will make for an intimate but awesome show. And…best of all, the show is FREE! A friend of mine wrote me a letter over the weekend wishing me a happy Sweetest Day. So I looked it up and then I thanked her. It’s a holiday celebrated by showing affection to the loved ones in your life on the third Saturday of October. Pretty sweet, right?!
Well Julius C is playing its CMJ showcase this coming Saturday, 10/24 at The Village Underground – exactly one week after this year’s Sweetest Day! You know… to celebrate! And… to show affection for you… because we love you. And we want you to know. (Aww.)
The songs of our new album were debuted at The Village Underground during our residencies leading up to our journey into our home recording studio. We are incredibly excited to bring these songs back to The Village Underground now that the album – “OK, OK.” – is finished. Party with us this…

In case you didn’t already know, our good friends Akudama have been playing every Tuesday this month at Pianos on Ludlow St. They even shot this video at Union Square to help promote the shows. Anyway, we joined them two nights ago for their Future Show – each week’s show has a different theme – and seriously got into the spirit. Jay was an androgynous space alien; Mike was a nuclear blast survivor who only survived because he wore his underwear on top of his pants; Jason was a futuristic fashionista sporting a tinfoil bowtie and headband; And I wore my 3007 sunglasses that I got in Times Square 998 years in the future. That would have been the end of the post… but then we got a comment on Facebook from a photographer who was at the show, stumbled upon us, really liked us, and decided to share the photos he took with us. So, without further ado, here are some photos taken by Hernan Seoane at Pianos on 9/22/2009:
